Ibind is a district of the Lower Franconian municipality of Burgpreppach in the Haßberge district .
Geographical location
Ibind is located southwest of Burgpreppach.
The B 303 runs north of Ibind in a northeast-southwest direction .
The town is connected to the west with the B 303, north-east with the B 303 and Burgpreppach and south with Hohnhausen .
history
Etymologically, the place name Ibind goes back to 'Wenden', i.e. a settlement with a Slavic population. The syllable 'Wend' changed over time through the second sound shift to 'bind'.
The first known documentary mention of Ibind comes from a donation of possessions by the noble von Rauheneck on June 12, 1231 to the Würzburg Bishop Hermann I von Lobdeburg .
On January 1, 1972, Birkach became part of Burgpreppach as part of the municipal reform.
