Kleinochsenfurt is a district of Ochsenfurt in the district of Würzburg in Bavaria .

geography

Kleinochsenfurt lies on the right bank of the Main at 182  m above sea level. NHN roughly at the southern tip of the Main Triangle . State road 2270 (previously: Bundesstraße 13 ) runs through the village from Sommerhausen to Frickenhausen am Main . Kleinochsenfurt has merged structurally with Ochsenfurt in the southeast. In the north, outside the settlement area, there is a watch tower and the Kleinochsenfurt castle stable . In Kleinochsenfurt the Rappertsmühlbach flows into the Main.

history

Around 740 a Benedictine monastery was founded on the right side of the Main in the area of ​​Kleinochsenfurt by the holy Thekla von Kitzingen . Up until 1133 there was a ford crossing through the Main, which was replaced by a first bridge. The village was owned by the Kitzingen monastery , which passed it on to the Lords of Hohenlohe as a fief . In 1327 Heinrich von Hohenlohe sold part of the bailiwick of Kleinochsenfurt to the cathedral chapter in Würzburg . On July 1, 1971, Kleinochsenfurt was incorporated into Ochsenfurt.
