Darstadt is a district of Ochsenfurt in the district of Würzburg in Bavaria .

geography

Darstadt lies at the height of the Ochsenfurter Gaus on the district road WÜ 13 between Eßfeld and Goßmannsdorf am Main at 246  m above sea level. NHN . The village is the westernmost part of the city and is traversed by the Saarbach, which joins the Muckenbach on the eastern outskirts to form the Schafbach, which flows into the Main at Goßmannsdorf. Darstadt Castle is in the center of the village .

history

Around 1100 the village was first mentioned in a document as "Tarstadt". Already before 1303 the place was owned by Erhard and Conrad von Rotenbur (Rottenbauer) and since 1345 it belonged to the Barons von Zobel . In 1597 Stefan von Zobel, who was married to a sister of Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn , had the parish church built. On January 1, 1972, Darstadt was incorporated into Ochsenfurt.
