Althausen is a district of Münnerstadt in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen , Bavaria .
Geographical location
The place is three kilometers east of Münnerstadt an der Lauer .
State roads 2281 and 2282 meet on the outskirts . The St 2281 leads south to Poppenlauer . The St 2282 leads west to Münnerstadt and east to Brno .
In addition, the federal highway 71 runs west of Althausen in a north-south direction.
history
The district was first mentioned in 803 with the name Atihuson . Archaeological finds from the Hallstatt period , however, show that settlement was much earlier. In the Middle Ages there must have been a castle in the village ( Burg Althausen ). During the Thirty Years War , Althausen was devastated by the Swedes.
The Church of St. Cyriakus was built around 1750. A schoolhouse followed in 1839.
On January 1, 1972, Althausen was incorporated into Münnerstadt.
