The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Cyriakus is the village church of Althausen , a district of Münnerstadt in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen . It belongs to the architectural monuments of Münnerstadt and is registered under the number D-6-72-135-96 in the Bavarian monument list .

history

Althausen was a branch of the Wermerichshausen parish , which had existed since 1180. The steeple, the oldest part of the church, was built in the late Gothic period and was raised after 1611. The choir and nave were built between 1710 and 1720. In the years 1748 to 1750 the church received its establishment.

description

The massive church tower, a Julius Echter tower with pointed arched sound windows , stands on the north side of the choir. The eastern choir with a five-eighth end has three large windows, plus a round window in the middle above. The nave has three window axes. The basement of the tower serves as a sacristy . Therefore, the tower on the first floor is entered via a wooden external staircase.

Furnishing

At the high altar the murder of the Franks Apostle is Kilian , Kolonat and Totnan the altarpiece shown. The right side altar is equipped with a figure of the church patron Cyriakus, the left side altar with a figure of Our Lady . At the pulpit there are figures of the four evangelists . The organ was made by the Würzburg organ builder Johann Philipp Seuffert in 1750.
