Burghausen is a district of Münnerstadt in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen , Bavaria . Burghausen is a church village that was independent until 1972.
Geographical location
The village is 8 km northeast of Bad Kissingen and 2 km west of Münnerstadt, on the 404 m high Michelsberg.
The KG 20 running through the village leads west to Bad Bocklet and joins the B 287 to Bad Kissingen and towards Schweinfurt south near Münnerstadt .
history
In 1186 the village was first mentioned in a document. Vineyards were planted near the village as early as the Middle Ages . Viticulture was given up again in the 19th century. A chapel already existed in the center of the village in 1720. In 1875, today's St. Michael Church was built.
On January 1, 1972, Burghausen was incorporated into Münnerstadt.
