Lars-Erik Spets (born April 2, 1985 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Lørenskog IK in the GET-ligaen since 2010 .
Career
Spets began his ice hockey career in the youth of the Norwegian first division club Lillehammer IK . At the age of 17 he made his debut in the professional team, with which he fought for points in the highest Norwegian league, the GET-ligaen . The trained striker was deployed 30 times in his first season for the IHK and was able to achieve 30 scorer points, as well as a plus / minus statistic of +14. After he developed into one of the top performers at his home club and was able to continuously increase his point yield, he joined the league rivals Trondheim IK for the 2004/05 season . Spets was able to improve again and, as the top goalscorer in the GET-ligaen, pushed a move to a stronger European league.
Then some clubs from the Swedish Elitserien became aware of him. After all, it was the people in charge at Brynäs IF who were able to convince him to get involved in Sweden. His first season there, however, was not very successful. He completed a total of 50 games for his new employer and was only able to achieve seven scorer points. His plus / minus statistics were also rather unfortunate at −10. Spets was then occasionally active for the club's U-20 team. At the end of the 2007/08 season Spets signed a contract with Füchsen Duisburg from the German Ice Hockey League . At the beginning of the following season, Spets was no longer licensed for the Fox squad.
In the summer of 2008 he moved back to his Norwegian homeland and joined the record champions Vålerenga Ishockey , with whom he won the Norwegian championship title for the first time in his career in 2009 and became runner-up in 2010. He was also able to distinguish himself personally in both seasons. In the 2008/09 season he was elected Playoff MVP and in 2010 he had the best plus / minus balance of the GET leagues. The international has been on the ice for Lørenskog IK since the 2010/11 season .
International
For Norway Spets took at junior level at the Under-18 World Youth Championship in 2002 , the Under-18 Junior B World Cup 2003 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 in part. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Cup in 2005 and the A World Cup in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 . He also competed for Norway at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .
