Üchtelhausen ( East Franconian Üchtlstücht ) is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt . The town hall of the large community is located in the district of Hesselbach .
geography
Geographical location
Üchtelhausen (approx. 322 m above sea level) is located in a depression in the Schweinfurt Rhön (Hesselbacher Waldland), on the Höllenbach . The valley of the brook between Üchtelhausen and the city limits of Schweinfurt is called Üchtelhäuser Grund . Due to the high altitude of the municipality, the significantly harsher climate can be explained in comparison to almost all other municipalities in the district. In the municipality is the highest village in the district of Schweinfurt, Hoppachshof, at 403 m above sea level. NN.

history
Until the church is planted
As part of the high pin Würzburg , which from 1500 to Franconian Circle belonged Üchtelhausen was in 1803 in Bavaria's favor secularized , then in the Peace of Pressburg in 1805 Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Wurzburg left with which it finally fell to Bayern 1814th In 1818 the political municipality was established.
Incorporations
During the Bavarian municipal reform on May 1, 1978, the municipalities of Ebertshausen, Hesselbach and Zell, the latter with the former municipalities of Madenhausen and Weipoltshausen incorporated on January 1, 1972, were incorporated.
Population development
The old Üchtelhausen as part of the local community has about 1,000 inhabitants.
Desolation
There are three deserted areas in the area of today's large community. Jeusungen was first mentioned in a document in 791, while Weipoltsdorf and Brönnhof have no first dates.

Johannes Grebner (list of mayors of all parts of the community / SPD) has been mayor since May 1, 2020. He reached the runoff election on March 15, 2020 from among four applicants 33.43% of the votes and then on March 29, 2020 with a turnout of 80.2% against Thomas Pfister with 50.2% of the votes. His predecessor was Birgit Göbhardt (local community) from May 2008 to April 2020.
Municipal council
The municipal council of the term of office has 16 mandates plus mayor. Eight groups of voters are represented in the body from May 2020 to April 2026.

The description of the municipal coat of arms introduced in 1969 reads: “Divided and split at the top by silver and red; in front a continuous black bar cross, behind the growing, left-turning silver bend of a bishop's staff; below, in gold on a green three-mountain, a red-armored black hen ”.
Intercommunal alliance Schweinfurter OberLand
The community is a founding member of the Intercommunal Alliance Schweinfurter OberLand, which also includes the communities Maßbach , Rannungen , Thundorf in Lower Franconia , Schonungen and Stadtlauringen (see also Schweinfurter Rhön ).
Culture and sights
Architectural monuments
The church of St. Jakob and St. Katharina in the Üchtelhausen district was built in its old part in 1687, and it was expanded to the west in 1985.
Freetime activities
In all districts of the larger community there is the possibility of doing recreational sports in clubs, including the SG Zell and the DJK Üchtelhausen.
Hoppachshof Golf Academy
Public 3-hole golf course at the radio tower, at 420 m above sea level, with driving range and practice greens.
Vita parcours fitness trail
Below the sports field in the Stengach forest section is the approx. Two kilometer long fitness trail. The vital course comprises 20 stations with illustrated instructions for the exercises. The Association for Horticulture and Land Maintenance has taken care of maintenance and renewal.
Farm Museum
Albin May has set up a farm museum in a former cowshed. In addition to agricultural implements and household furnishings, the showpieces also include poems written by Albin May.
Association of Christian Scouts (#VCP)
In Zell there is a tribe of the Protestant Association of Christian Scouts and Boy Scouts.

In 2017 there were 219 jobs subject to social security contributions in the municipality. Of the resident population, 1,629 people were in employment that was subject to compulsory insurance. This means that the number of out-commuters was 1,410 more than that of in-commuters. 49 residents were unemployed. In 2016 there were 40 farms.
