Udo Mai (born July 29, 1967 in Üchtelhausen ; † March 31, 2015 ) was a German football goalkeeper .

Player career

After playing at DJK Üchtelhausen and 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 , Udo Mais began his professional career at SG Wattenscheid 09 , where he played from 1989 to 1994 . He made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on May 13, 1990 against Preußen Münster (0-1). In 1994 he moved to FC Schalke 04 , but did not play a game there in the professional team and went to SpVgg Unterhaching a year later . Here, too, he was mostly a substitute goalkeeper, behind Jürgen Wittmann . He played for Upper Bavaria until the 1999/2000 season . Then he let his career end at 1. FC Miesbach.

Udo Mai died on March 31, 2015 at the age of 47.
