Bergrheinfeld ( East Franconian Berch ) is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt . The street village with its stone houses on the eaves in the center has the typical character of the villages in the Franconian wine country to the south .

There are two officially named districts:

Neighboring communities are (starting from the north clockwise): Geldersheim , Schweinfurt , Grafenrheinfeld , Röthlein , Waigolshausen and Werneck .

Incorporations

On July 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Garstadt was incorporated.

Culture and sights

Since the renovation of the tithe house in 1986, cultural life in the community has become more important. Particularly noteworthy is the cultural week in and around the Zehnthaus, which has been taking place annually after the Whitsun holidays since 1996. In addition to the community and the library, the numerous associations help create a diverse range of activities.

NSG Altmainschleife Süd

The Altmainschleife Süd forms the Alter Main nature reserve near Bergrheinfeld and Grafenrheinfeld . With its reeds , tall herbaceous vegetation , willow bushes and riparian trees, it is an important breeding and resting place for water birds.

In the vicinity of the Grafenrheinfeld nuclear power plant , which was decommissioned in 2015 and which also extends to the Bergrheinfeld area, there is one of the most important German line nodes for high-voltage direct current transmission .
