Ottenhausen is a district of the community of Üchtelhausen in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt . Ottenhausen is a hamlet .

Geographical location

Ottenhausen is located in the Schweinfurt Rhön (Hesselbacher Waldland). The hamlet is located 1.5 km east of the district of Hesselbach (town hall of the large community), 6 km northeast of Üchtelhausen and 11 km northeast of Schweinfurt . Ottenhausen is located on Wollenbach , at the upper (northern) end of the Ottenhäuser Grund, on the 406 m high Grainberg.

history

The first known documentary mention of the place comes from the year 811. Ottenhausen was part of the municipality Hesselbach , which was incorporated into Üchtelhausen on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform.

Recreation

Ottenhausen is secluded and idyllic in a local recreation area in Schweinfurt. Hiking trails lead from the hamlet in almost all directions. This is also where the 5 km long Ottenhäuser Grund ends, which takes a (bike) hiking trail through a large forest area southwards to the village of Hausen . Above the hamlet is the Tannenberghütte, which can only be reached on foot, as a stop for hikers.
