history

Today's Argo Hytos Group has its origins in the former company Argo GmbH for precision mechanics. This was founded on July 7, 1947 at the request of Herbert Kienzle , the managing partner of Kienzle Apparate , in Stuttgart and had developed from the former Stuttgart sales company for Kienzle taximeters . At first, Argo was just a brand name of the predecessor company Kienzle Apparate for the manufacture of taximeters, which refers to the Greek legend of Jason and his fabulous fast ship.

An independent production program of magnetic and sieve filters was developed; In 1952 Argo received a patent for magnetic filters. The product portfolio was expanded to include hydraulic filters for mobile and industrial hydraulics , which were produced in a former cigar factory in Menzingen , Baden . In 1965 the administrative headquarters were also moved to Kraichtal. The company expanded internationally: At the beginning of the 1980s, the first own sales company was founded abroad in France, followed by companies in the Netherlands, Great Britain, the USA, Sweden, Hong Kong, Italy, Poland and China.
