Krensheim is a district of Grünsfeld in the Main-Tauber district and has 290 inhabitants.
history
The village of Krensheim was first mentioned in a document from the Bronnbach Monastery from 1155, at that time still under the name Crenshe . Over the years, the name of the village changed several times: The village was called 1169 Crantse , 1244 Crense , 1298 Krentse and 1787 Crainsheim . After the village had changed hands five times, Krensheim was incorporated into the city of Grünsfeld on January 1, 1974. Today, Krensheim is known far beyond the Main-Tauber region thanks to the Krensheimer shell limestone, which was used for a long time to build Cologne Cathedral .
coat of arms
The Krensheim coat of arms shows: "In silver on green ground, the golden nimbly Saint Aegidius in red robe, with his right hand protecting an upright red doe, in his left holding a golden abbot, next to it a green tree."
