Kützbrunn is a district of Grünsfeld in the Main-Tauber district and has 207 inhabitants.

The village of Kützbrunn and the abandoned village of Schloßgewann belong to the former municipality of Kützbrunn. The village of Kützbrunn is drained by the Kützbrunner Graben , which flows into the Wittigbach from the left at Zimmer .

history

middle Ages

Kützbrunn was first mentioned in a document in 1119 when it was donated to the diocese of Würzburg . It was noted that a Gumbert von Equarhofen bequeathed his goods to the Bishop of Würzburg , including the village of "Kubrunnen".

After the Counts of Rieneck received the place as a fief in the middle of the 13th century, it was handed over to the Gerlachsheim monastery in the same century .

Modern times

Until its secularization in 1803, Kützbrunn remained in the possession of the Gerlachsheim monastery. State sovereignty was always with Würzburg before 1803 and then passed to the Principality of Krautheim (Salm-Reifferscheidt-Bedbur). After the principality was dissolved by the Rhine Federation Act, from 1806 Kützbrunn belonged to the new Grand Duchy of Baden .

On January 1, 1975, Kützbrunns was incorporated into the city of Grünsfeld.
