Paimar is a district of Grünsfeld in the Main-Tauber district with 243 inhabitants.

Paimar is located in the upper Grünbach valley .

history

Little is known about the origins of the village. Paimar was mentioned for the first time after the Thirty Years War . Paimar had different place names in its past: in 1444 it was mentioned as Bunber , then as Beumar and in 1502 as Baymar . Paimar was not spared during a flood in 1911. The tsunami caused great damage and claimed 11 lives.

During the German War , on July 24, 1866, the fourth division (Austrian- Nassau division under Field Marshal-Lieutenant Erwin von Neipperg ) of the VIII Federal Corps (under the command of Alexander von Hessen-Darmstadt ) was split up at Paimar as part of the battle at Werbach .

The village was incorporated into the city of Grünsfeld on January 1, 1973.
