Thüngbach is a district of the town of Schlüsselfeld in the Bamberg district in Upper Franconia .

geography

The village is on the edge of the Middle Steigerwald . In the north there are wooded hills, in the south the area consisting of arable and grassland slopes gently. The Thüngbach, a left tributary of the Reichen Ebrach, flows through the village .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1421 as "Tunpach". The feudal lord was the Hochstift Würzburg . The high court exercised the Würzburg Centamt Schlüsselfeld . Fiefs were the Nuremberg patricians von der Till. In 1715 Gabriel Sigmund von Till sold all rights in the village to the bishopric. In 1802 there were eleven subject families in the village.

As part of the community edict, Thüngbach was assigned to the Schlüsselfeld tax district, which was formed in 1811 . In 1813 the municipality of Schlüsselfeld was formed, to which the place belonged.

The place is still predominantly Catholic and parish after St. John the Baptist (Schlüsselfeld) . The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Giles (Burghaslach) .

traffic

The national road 2262 goes according key field (2.3 km south west) or via Obermelsendorf (km northeast 1.3). To the north of Thüngbach, the district road BA 50 branches off from the St 2262 to Eckersbach (1.4 km southeast).
