Thüngfeld (colloquially: Dümpfld ) is a district of Schlüsselfeld in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg .

geography

The church village forms a closed settlement with Schlüsselfeld in the northwest and Attelsdorf in the southeast. It lies on the north bank of the Reichen Ebrach and the Thüngbach and Reuthgraben, both of which flow into the Reiche Ebrach as left tributaries. The place is surrounded by arable land and grassland. In the north, the corridor area is called Am Hohen Kreuz .

Neighboring towns are Thüngbach and Eckersbach in the north, Possenfelden and Elsendorf in the west, Attelsdorf in the south and Schlüsselfeld in the west. All of these places are districts of the city of Schlüsselfeld.

history

Thüngfeld represents a chain village with Franconian farmstead shapes. It is the mother town of Schlüsselfeld. In 1154 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Tuntefeld". An important feudal lord was the Bamberg ministerial family Thünfeld , which had its headquarters in the village. In 1293 the brothers Heinrich and Hermann von Thünfeld received their castle from Bamberg's Bishop Arnold von Solms for 200 pounds of Heller as a castle fief . Since the beginning of the 14th century, the Lords of Schlüsselberg gained influence over the Thüngfelder. By Konrad II von Schlüsselberg , Schlüsselfeld was planned in the immediate vicinity, which was granted market rights by Ludwig the Bavarian on June 11, 1336 . For the Hochstift Würzburg , feudal claims are attested as early as 1317. After the death of Konrad II in 1347, his claims came to the Würzburg and Bamberg monasteries . Another feudal lord were the Hohenloher family . In 1368 Gerlach von Hohenlohe sold his claims for 3,600 pounds of Heller to the bishopric of Bamberg. In 1390 Würzburg acquired the Bamberg share. Until the 16th century, Thüngfeld Castle was the seat of the Thüngfeld Centamt in Würzburg . The castle included a large sheep farm, a forecourt, a cattle house with 36 acres of meadows and a large and small farm. In 1794 the entire property was broken up into 173 parts and the sheep farm was divided into 22 parts, a sign of the episcopal policy of Peuplierungspolitik .

In 1810 Thüngfeld came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the Thüngfeld tax district was formed in 1811 , to which Attelsdorf belonged. In the same year, the rural community Thüngfeld was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the regional court of Höchstadt and in financial administration to the Rent Office of Höchstadt . From 1862 Thüngfeld was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the rent office of Höchstadt (1920–1929: tax office Höchstadt , from 1929: tax office Forchheim ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Höchstadt until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Höchstadt , from 1959 district court of Forchheim . The municipality had an area of 9.316 km².

On May 1, 1978, the Thüngfeld community was incorporated into the town of Schlüsselfeld as part of the regional reform .
