geography

The village lies on the Reichen Ebrach and the Altbach, which is a branch of the Reichen Ebrach, and is directly surrounded by arable land and grassland.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1017 as "Lacheha in pago Jffingouve". The place name is derived from an identical field name whose meaning is standing water .

At the end of the 18th century there were 12 properties in Lach. The high court exercised the Bamberg center Wachenroth . The village and township government had the box office Wachenroth held. The landlords were the Bamberg caste office in Höchstadt (1 Sölde ) and the Anna zu Höchstadt hospital (9 farms, 1 farm, 1 shepherd's house). In 1801 there were 10 subject families, 9 of which were subordinate to the Anna hospital and 1 to the Höchstadt caste office.

As part of the community edict, Lach was assigned to the Elsendorf tax district, formed in 1808 . In the same year the rural community Elsendorf was formed, to which the place belonged.

On May 1, 1978, Lach was incorporated into the town of Schlüsselfeld as part of the regional reform .
