Reichmannsdorf is a district of the town of Schlüsselfeld in the Bamberg district in Upper Franconia .

Today around 800 residents live in the formerly independent community in the north of the city of Schlüsselfeld.

State road 2262 runs through Reichmannsdorf . The Steigerwald surrounds the place.

history

The place was called "Richalsdorf" as early as 1303. After various lordship relationships, Wolf Philipp von Schrottenberg bought a large part of the parish corridor towards the end of the 17th century.

From 1790 to 1867 there was a porcelain factory that had been founded by the Thuringian porcelain painter Gottlieb Ehregott Gottbrecht with the support of the von Schrottenberg family. The Stadtmuseum Schlüsselfeld shows an exhibition on the history of the manufacture.

Jewish cemetery

The Jewish community of Reichmannsdorf has been traceable since the 18th century and existed until 1907, when the last Jewish residents were assigned to the community of Burgebrach . The synagogue , probably built around 1700, was converted into a residential building in 1926. The Jews laid out their own cemetery in 1840 , where there are still around 30 graves. Before 1840 the Jews from Reichmannsdorf were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Mühlhausen .

Parish church

Parish Church of St. Sebastian

The Catholic parish church is under the patronage of Saint Sebastian . It was built in the 15th century, destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, renovated in 1664 and rebuilt and furnished in 1921 by the architect Fritz Fuchsenberger . The church, which was renovated in 1664, became the transept of the church. The ceiling and gallery are adorned with flowers and rural motifs.

Reichmannsdorf Castle

Built on the site of 1642 destroyed by fire Steward Castle Johann Dientzenhofer from 1714 to 1719 according to the plans of his brother Leonhard for Wolf Philipp Schrottenberg a castle as a three-winged building on an artificial lake, with an ornate face side, high, mansardenunterteiltem roof and a mighty heraldic gable. The stucco work in the stairwell is by Johann Christian Beuntner, the paintings by Johann Jakob Gebhard. The castle has housed a hotel since 2011.

An 18-hole golf course was laid out around the castle in 1991 and is operated by Schloss Reichmannsdorf Golf Betriebs GmbH.

The residents of Reichmannsdorf are organized in terms of sport in SC Reichmannsdorf, a sports club with more than 500 members. The 1st soccer team SC Reichmannsdorf plays in the Bamberg district league.
