The Mühlhausen Jewish Cemetery in Mühlhausen , a municipality in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Central Franconia , was established in 1738. The cemetery is located on a small hill northwest of the village, accessible via the Lochweg.

The Jewish community Muehlhausen put their dead on the front of 1,738 Jewish cemetery Zeckern at. To the right of the entrance is the Tahara House , built around 1900 . To the left of the entrance, opposite the Tahara House, are the graves of the Kohanim . Only after a larger area of ​​grass do the other graves join on the hill of the sloping terrain to the east. The 7920 m² property is surrounded by a chain link fence and offers a view of the village. Today there are still 377 tombstones ( Mazewot ).

Tahara house

On April 3, 1899, the Jewish community in Mühlhausen decided to build a new Tahara house, if sufficient donations would enable the financing of the construction project. The construction contract was awarded to the carpenter Heinrich Hertlein, who had drawn the plans. The 5 by 10 meter single-storey house has three rooms and ten windows. In the first of the three rooms there is an old Tahara stone table, possibly from the time when the cemetery was established. The hipped roof is covered with beaver tiles.
