history
The first written mention of the district comes from the year 908. The village was owned by the Grumbach knights from 1282 to 1603 . The Catholic Church of All Saints in the center of the village was an independent parish as early as 1466. The fortified church was renovated between 1684 and 1687 and has been preserved to this day. In addition to the church, a residential building built around 1600 and several wayside shrines from the 17th and 18th centuries have been preserved in the village as a monument . Until 1803 the place belonged to the office Prosselsheim. The Bavarian original cadastre shows a clustered village with 35 farms in the 1810s . After 1840 the Marienhof to the north was added as a resettlement. Püssensheim was later an independent municipality in the Kitzingen district . In the course of the municipal reform , it was incorporated into Prosselsheim in 1971. In 1972 the community was reclassified to the Würzburg district.
Economy and Transport
The place is still predominantly agricultural today. There is no manufacturing industry there. Worth mentioning is the 19 hectares large solar farm east of town that produces fully configured at peak times up to 5,530 kWp electrical energy.
State road 2270 runs through the town in a north-south direction . The Mainschleifenbahn, popularly known as the Säuferbahn , runs one kilometer south .
