history
In 1234, Count Otto von Botenlauben sold the monastery of Würzburg, which formerly formed two villages and now becomes a connected place, "Gebolshusin et Hagin". The place name is derived from the "houses of the Gebolt". It is said to have been mentioned for the first time in 820.
From 1245 Gabolshausen was part of the "New Rulership Henneberg" under Hermann I von Henneberg-Coburg, which fell to the Ascanian co-regent Margrave Otto den Langen von Brandenburg zu Salzwedel († 1308) in 1291 under the name " Pflege Coburg " . In 1317 the place came to the county of Henneberg -Schleusingen as part of the "New Rulership Henneberg" and was affiliated with the Heldburg office. Through two divisions of the Schleusinger line in 1347 and 1353, the place fell to Count Eberhard II of Württemberg . He sold Gabolshausen to the Würzburg monastery in 1354. Since then, the place has been part of the Würzburg district of Königshofen , which was temporarily pledged to the Henneberg-Aschach line in the 15th century.
In 1803 Gabolshausen was secularized in favor of Bavaria , then in the Peace of Pressburg 1805 left to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg , with which it finally fell to Bavaria in 1814 . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
On 1 January 1972 Gabolshausen was in the town of Bad Königshofen in the grave box incorporated .
