St. Mary Salvation of the Sick (Münster)

St. Maria Heil der Kranken is a Catholic church in Münster, Westphalia . It is the church of the Münster University Clinics and is located on their premises, between the surgical clinic and the dental clinic.

Building

The church was built and consecrated in 1958. The building has 240 seats. In front there is a 28 m high bell tower.

Furnishing

On the closed wall behind the altar there is a large wall mosaic that was created in 1967 by the artist Sr. Erentrud Trost . It shows the assumption of Mary into heaven .

The altar was designed by the artist Hilde Schürk-Frisch . The tabernacle, candlesticks and the altar cross were created by the sculptor Hein Wimmer (Cologne).

organ

The organ was built in 1963 by the organ builder Matthias Kreienbrink (Osnabrück) based on a layout draft by Rudolf Reuter . The slider chest instrument has 21 stops on two manuals and a pedal. The playing and stop actions are mechanical.
