Beckstein is a district of Lauda-Königshofen in the Main-Tauber district , the northernmost district of Baden-Württemberg .

Beckstein occupies an area of ​​2.88 square kilometers and has 344 inhabitants.

history

Beckstein belonged to the Lauda office . This had a number of changing rulers until 1506 and was then part of the diocese of Würzburg until its secularization in 1803. It came first to the principality of Leiningen . After the principality was dissolved in 1806 by the Rhine Federation Act , it was then added to the Grand Duchy of Baden . A Lauda district office was set up there, but it was dissolved again in 1813.

In the course of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg , Beckstein was finally added to the city of Lauda-Königshofen.

The largest employer in the community is the Becksteiner winemakers' cooperative founded in 1894 .

On January 1, 1974 Beckstein was incorporated into the city of Lauda and came with this on January 1, 1975 to Lauda-Königshofen.
