Gauaschach is a district of the Bavarian city of Hammelburg in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen .
Geographical location
Gauaschach is located south of Hammelburg.
The KG 40 , thoroughfare of the town, flows westward into the St 2294 , the northward past leader leads in stock Hammelburg Hammelburg and south to Büchold. To the east the KG 40 leads to Neubessingen.
history
The first known documentary mention of the place comes from the year 791. Originally Gauaschach was an enclosed farming village. From 1786 to 1789 today's St. Sebastian Church was built in the village. As part of the municipal reform , Gauaschach became a district of Hammelburg on May 1, 1978.
