coat of arms

Blazon : Under a shield head split by silver and blue split by red and silver, in front a silver wolf turned to the left, behind a red flight .

Coat of arms history: The community of Oerlenbach, established in 1972, consists of the formerly independent communities named in the community structure listed above, of which Eltingshausen had its own coat of arms, which was lost due to the merger. The wolf was adopted from this coat of arms in the new municipal coat of arms. It is the heraldic animal of the local noble family of the Lords of Eltinghausen, who demonstrably carried their coat of arms in the Middle Ages until 1427 and died out in 1465. For Ebenhausen there is the flight in the coat of arms, which was taken from the coat of arms of the Lords of Münster, who owned possessions in this community. The colors silver and blue shown in the main shield are the colors of the city of Schweinfurt and indicate that Rottershausen belonged to the imperial bailiwick there. The colors silver and red stand for the Würzburg bishopric, which in the Middle Ages had rulership rights especially in Ebenhausen.
The coat of arms was awarded by the government of Lower Franconia on July 12, 1973.
