Kilianshof is a district of the Lower Franconian community Sandberg in the district of Rhön-Grabfeld .

Geographical location

Kilianshof is located northeast of Sandberg at an altitude of 562  m above sea level. NHN on a saddle between the Küppelchen (602 m) north and the Feldberg (570 m) south.

The state road St 2288 leads past Kilianshof and connects the remote village with Sandberg (3 km) and Bischofsheim (6 km).

history

Little is known about the circumstances in which Kilianshof was founded. Various sources put the founding year at before 1680, 1690 or 1695. The name of the place is derived from the forest department in which the place was created. The name of the forest department was originally "Kilbigs- (Kilmanns) Kopf". The place was first mentioned as "Kilianshof" in a bill from 1709.

The land consolidation that began in 1975 was ended in 1995.
