The office Bütthard was an office of the Hochstift Würzburg .

In the early modern period , offices were a level between the municipalities and the sovereignty . The functions of administration and jurisdiction were not separated here. The office was headed by a bailiff who was appointed by the rulers. It was also a central office , that is, a high court district.

history

From Ulrich IV. Von Hanau , Burg und Amt Büttert came to the Würzburg Monastery on January 12, 1377 in exchange for the second half of the Schlüchtern court .

The statistics of the Hochstift Würzburg from 1699 name 243 subjects in 7 villages. The following were deducted from the office as annual income for the Hochstift: Appraisal : 145 Reichstaler, excise and ungeld : 410 fl and smoke pound : 297 pound.

After the transition to Kurpfalz-Bayern in 1802, the office was dissolved and the places assigned to the Röttingen district court .

At the end of the HRR the office consisted of the Markt Bütthard and the places Euerhausen , Gaubüttelbrunn , Gützingen , Höttingen , Oeßfeld and Tiefenthal .

Cent belonged to the official places except Gaubüttelbrunn (Gaubüttelbrunn had previously been Kammerdorf and was assigned to the office due to its location) as well as Allersheim , Bernsfelden , Büttelborn , Bohwiesen , Dechsheim , Egenburg , Gaurettersheim , Hof Lilach , Kirchheim , Regshausen , Milgband , Ober- and Unterwittighausen , Most , Popenhausen , Riedermühl , Rödelsee and Summeringen .

The main court was held outside the city under a linden tree. The place of execution was on the Galgenberg. Two parcels of land, about 1400 meters northwest of the town center, indicate "Galgen" as field names.

Office building

In the 18th century the Würzburg administrative building (today's address: Raiffeisenstraße 8) was built. It is a two-storey, plastered mansard hipped roof building with drilled window frames. It is a listed building as a monument.
