Pflochsbach is a district of Lohr am Main in the Bavarian Spessart .

The place is on the Main at 158  m above sea level. NN at Kreisstraße 22 between Waldzell and Sendelbach . The previously independent community was incorporated into Lohr am Main in 1978. In 2013 it had 442 inhabitants and the trend is falling.

Pflochsbach was first mentioned in a document in 1192. In 1992 the village celebrated its 800th anniversary.

The festivals in the village include:

  • mostly 2 carnival sessions in mid to late January
  • Setting up the maypole followed by dinner on April 29th or 30th
  • May fire, usually at the end of June
  • Parish festival, Sunday and Monday on the third weekend of July
  • Summer party on the fairground on the second Saturday in August
  • Kirb, early November
  • Brine meat , last Saturday in December
  • Haxenessen at Stachus on December 31st

The parish hall was renovated in 2014 and 2015 and reopened on July 19, 2015.

leisure

Pflochsbach is located on the east bank of the Main . The slopes of the village face west and are often in the sun until evening. On the bank there is a lawn for sunbathing, a basketball court and children's playgrounds. The section of the Main river bordering the town is the longest contiguous water sports section in southern Germany with no speed limit. The small slipway is located north of the lawn.
