history

In 1862 the district office Lohr am Main was formed, on whose administrative area Sackenbach was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Sackenbach was now one of the 26 communities in the Lohr am Main district . With the dissolution of the Lohr district in 1972, Sackenbach came into the newly formed Main-Spessart district .

The previously independent municipality was incorporated into Lohr am Main on January 1, 1972.

From 1914 to 1985 there was a lung healing center for women - Maria-Theresien-Heim - parallel to the lung sanatorium in the Lindig district of Lohr . The buildings are now being run by Bosch Rexroth u. a. used as an office building.

church

The Catholic parish church of St Bonifaz was built between 1928 and 1929 by Johann Adam Rüppel . The parish is part of the parish community of 12 Apostles at the gateway to the Spessart .

Until they moved to the Lohr suburb, the church of the Free Christian Community of Lohr was in Sackenbach.
