Machtilshausen is a district of the Elfershausen market in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen .

Geographical location

Machtilshausen is located southwest of Elfershausen.

Machtilshausen is on the B 287 , which leads in a north-easterly direction to Euerdorf and Bad Kissingen and in a south-westerly direction to Hammelburg , and which forms the Hammelburg 97 junction with the A 7 at Machtilshausen . The A 7 runs west of Machtilshausen in a north-south direction.

history

Machtilshausen was first mentioned in 788 as part of a donation from the noble Matto, who left his monastery on the Franconian Saale to the Fulda Abbey . The place was mentioned in 824 as "Mattholfeshusen".

In 1488 the "Schreinersch House" was built. The late Gothic half-timbered farmhouse was restored by the Association for Horticulture, Customs and Homeland Care, Machtilshausen, as a document of local history.

The first church in the village was built in 1502. The substructure of this early church building is part of today's St. Jakobus Church , whose nave was built later. Machtilshausen, which was initially the Filalort of the parish of Langendorf , became its own parish in 1863. The fact that the bailiff Conrad von Steinau auf der Trimburg and his brother Heinrich founded his own early measurement deficit in 1427 suggests that there was already a chapel in the village at that time. In 1478, a previous building in the form of a wooden chapel was built on the site of today's Holy Cross Chapel ; today's Holy Cross Chapel itself was built in 1730–1733. The Machtilshausen pastor was also for Feuerthal ; since 1970 the pastor of Fuchsstadt has also been responsible for Machtilshausen.

On July 1, 1971, Machtilshausen became a district of Elfershausen as part of the municipal reform .

On October 3, 2008, Machtilshausen joined the parish "Saalekreuz".
