history

In 799 Abbess Emhilt von Milz gave her goods in "Hishereshus" to the Fulda monastery . The name Eyershausen means: "near the houses of Isher". Around 1100 Eyershausen fell under the rule of the Counts of Henneberg , from whom it came to the Würzburg Monastery in 1473 and was incorporated into the Königshofen office.

In 1509, Bishop Lorenz von Bibra gave the place a village order. In 1575 a Catholic parish was founded under the Würzburg prince-bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn , who had the Counter-Reformation carried out in the community. In 1643 the village was cremated by the Swedes during the Thirty Years War . In 1744 Eyershausen received the brewing license.

Eyershausen was secularized in 1803 in favor of Bavaria , then left in the Peace of Pressburg in 1805 to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg , with which it finally fell to Bavaria in 1814 . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

In 1958 land consolidation was carried out. On April 1, 1972, Eyershausen was incorporated into the town of Bad Königshofen in Grabfeld.

religion

A church consecrated to St. Boniface was first mentioned in 1354. Initially belonging to the Fulda Abbey , in 1473 it moved to the Diocese of Würzburg . 1456 confirmed Bishop Johann III. von Grumbach the early mass donated to Eyershausen. Before that, the place belonged for a long time to the original parish Untereßfeld and later to Trappstadt . In 1590 the church was raised to a parish by Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn (1573-1617) and restored around 1610. In 1752 the old church was laid in and the new building began under the direction of the Arnstein master builder Johann Müller (1709–1762). The consecration in honor of Saint Wendelin was carried out by the Würzburg bishop Daniel Antonius von Gebsattel on August 23, 1754.
