Großbardorf is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld
geography
The community is located in the Main-Rhön region . The place Großbardorf is located 26 kilometers from Schweinfurt and 120 kilometers from Nuremberg.

history
Until the church is planted
In 789, "Pargthorfum" (village on the Barget) was first mentioned in the Carolingian era in a deed of donation from the Fulda monastery . In 1165 the Wechterswinkel monastery exchanged the tithe in Großeibstadt for an estate in Großbardorf. In 1305, after the Counts of Wildberg died out, half of Großbardorf fell to the Counts of Henneberg and the other half to the Würzburg Monastery . Großbardorf now belongs to the Wildberg district of Würzburg . In 1586 the part of the Henneberg family fell to the Würzburg monastery under the Schleusinger Treaty .
As part of the high pin Würzburg, which the Franconian Circle belonged Großbardorf was in 1803 in Bavaria's favor secularized , then in the Peace of Pressburg (1805) Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Wurzburg left with which it 1814 final to Bayern fell. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Economy including agriculture and forestry
In 1998, according to official statistics, there were no employees at the place of work in the manufacturing industry or in trade and transport who were subject to social insurance contributions. In other economic areas, 19 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 320 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were 15 companies in the manufacturing sector and five in the construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 31 agricultural holdings with an agricultural area of 993 ha, of which 889 ha were arable land and 103 ha were permanent green areas.
