history
Until the church is planted
The Sulzfeld office of the Würzburg monastery belonged to the Franconian Empire from 1500 . After secularization in 1803 in favor of Bavaria, it was left to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany in 1805 to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg and with this in 1814 it finally fell to Bavaria. In 1818 the political municipality was established.
Jewish families
At least since the 19th century, Jewish families had lived in the Kleinbardorf district , forming a Jewish community , setting up a Jewish cemetery on Steep Mountain (popularly "Judenhügel") and building their synagogue on Untere Hauptstrasse 5 . This church was destroyed by SA men in the November pogrom in 1938 . A plaque at the entrance to the cemetery reminds of this.
