history
Until the church is planted
Radiation can be assigned to the pre-Franconian period with a high degree of probability thanks to the ending "-ungen", and in 837 a desert was mentioned for radiation. However, radiation was first mentioned in a document in 1196. Before that, in 1156, the Maria Bildhausen Monastery , located four kilometers south-east, was founded , which was closely connected to radiation. Until 1796, the monastery in Strahlungen owned a Gülthof, which included two farms, three vineyards and twelve acres of land. The monastery was also the sole owner of the Rheinfeldshof district. After secularization in 1803 in favor of Bavaria, the office of the Hochstift Würzburg was left to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany in 1805 to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg and with this in 1814 it finally fell to Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms, the current community was created with the community edict of 1818 .
20th century
Politically, Maria Bildhausen Monastery has not belonged to the Strahlungen community since 1950. On July 1, 1972, the community of Strahlungen remained on the occasion of the regional reform in the now enlarged Bad Neustadt an der Saale district, which was renamed the Rhön-Grabfeld district on May 1, 1973.

Father's Day Festival Rheinfeldshof This annual festival is very popular in the area. It has been held since 1990 and offers visitors - the majority of whom arrive on foot or by bike - on the fairground on the outskirts, with musical entertainment from the surrounding brass bands. The numerous tarts and cakes are a particular specialty.
Radiant mile This takes place every two years (next date: 2020). The first two versions in 2015 and 2016 (after which the two-year interval was changed) were frequented by a large number of visitors. For this two-day festival, the entire village square is festively decorated, there is a large artist and artisan mile in the streets of the old town of radiations, performances by children on the stage, entertainment through music in the evenings (on Sunday afternoons).
Halloween Opening With several DJs in two areas, this festival primarily appeals to the younger generation. It has been held every year since 2011 at the end of October and fills the Strahler Halle down to the last seat. Well-known DJs perform there every year in the region and beyond.
Performances by the theater group Every two years, on several evenings (2018 break), performances by the theater group of the parish Strahlungen take place in the Günter-Burger-Halle, which has now earned an excellent reputation in the area. The listed pieces are - as far as possible - rewritten in the Radiant dialect, which is why the group is also part of the Dialect Theater Franconia.
