Rinderfeld is a district of Niederstetten in the Main-Tauber district in the northeast of Baden-Württemberg . The hamlets of Dunzendorf and Streichental belong to Rinderfeld .

geography

The clustered village is located on a plateau, about three kilometers northeast of Niederstetten on the L 1020 state road . The B 290 runs to the west and the A 7 to the east . The Rindbach flows out of the Rinderfelder Badesee in a northerly direction and through the village. On the district Rinderfeld the 0.84 is ha large nature reserve Erlenbruchwald the Lichteler Landturm .

history

The first written mention was in 1343 as Ryndervelt . At that time the place was Hohenlohisch, after changing owners the community came to the Oberamt Mergentheim in 1810 . During the municipal reform , Rinderfeld was incorporated into Niederstetten on February 1, 1972.

The parish, which has existed since 1360, has been Protestant since 1528.

Rinderfeld fortified church

On a hill in the middle of the village, within the cemetery, is the Protestant fortified church with churchyard fortifications, formerly St. Michael. In 1607, the nave of the Romanesque choir tower church with a profiled round arch portal was redesigned in Gothic style. There is a round arched entrance at the churchyard wall.

More Attractions

  • Next to the church is the town hall with a natural stone base and half-timbering. It served as a school building until 1898, then as a country hunter's house and police station until 1962.
  • The new schoolhouse, built in 1898 and located behind the cemetery, is a two-story brick building with a central projection and a rich historicizing portal. Today the building known as the “old school” is used as a village community center.
  • The intact Rinderfelder Dorfschmiede dates back to 1840
  • On the road to Rothenburg ob der Tauber is the approx. 300 year old wedding forest of Streichental, in which, according to old custom, only wedding couples from Streichental are allowed to plant an oak for their wedding. A monument near recalls the dialed Weiler Wiesetweiler, who also belongs to cattle field.

The Rinderfelder See , built in the mid-1990s as a rainwater retention basin, extends on the southern outskirts .
