history
Prehistoric finds
The prehistoric burial ground of Zeuzleben contained 15 mostly beheaded horses, plus 4 large dogs, which were buried individually, in twos or threes and mostly not related to human graves, and a woman's grave with chariot that was around 530-540 in the Merovingian era. A true-to-scale replica of the grave was recreated in the Archeology Museum of the Franconian Open Air Museum in Bad Windsheim and can be viewed there. The late property owner and discoverer Fridolin Beßler made 450 finds available to the State Archaeological Collection in Munich by contract, which, however, did not return the loan because the conditions were not met.
First mention
Zeuzleben was first mentioned in a document in 876. Earlier place names are "Zutilebe" and "Zuzeleibe" and are probably a paraphrase of "Erbgut des Zuto".
Incorporation
On July 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Zeuzleben was incorporated into the municipality of Werneck as part of the municipal area reform.
Culture and sights
In Zeuzleben there is a public library with around 3000 media (as of 2013).
Buildings
The Catholic Church of St. Bartholomew, built between 1753 and 1754, with a very beautiful window by the Passau glass painter Alexander Sutor is significant. In addition, the oldest wayside shrine in the district of Schweinfurt, which dates from 1536, stands on the village square .
