history
Until the church is planted
Archaeological finds from Neolithic times suggest that a settlement existed here in the broad valley floor very early. The soil monument list has 16 objects listed from prehistory to modern times.
It was first mentioned in a document in 1103. During the time of the tribal duchies, the place was in the Duchy of Franconia . Elevated to a parish in 1359, the village was incorporated into the St. Stephan monastery in Bamberg . Former local nobility were those of Biberern . The place belonged together with Burgerroth and Buch to the Rittermannslehen Reichelsberg and the Lords of Hohenlohe - Brauneck had the say. In 1390, after the Hohenloher-Brauneckers died out, Bieberehren came to Bamberg as a settled fiefdom . Bishop Lamprecht von Bamberg exchanged the Reichelsburg and the villages Baldersheim, Bieberehren, Burgerroth and Buch with Bishop Gerhard von Würzburg for Burgebrach and the Würzburg property in Ebermannstadt and Senftenberg . 1401, on the Wednesday before Aegidi (August 31), the Würzburg bishop Johann I von Egloffstein enfeoffed the treasurer Konrad von Weinsberg with the rule of Reichelsberg and the castle, the market in Aub , half Baldersheim, Burgerroth, Buch, Bieberehren, Hopferstadt, Gülchsheim and Stalldorf. In 1516, with the extinction of the male line of the Weinsbergers, the castle came to Countess Katharina von Königstein, née von Weinsberg, who sold Reichelsburg in 1521 to Prince-Bishop Konrad II von Thüngen for 49,000 guilders. A Lower Castle , built in 1550 and surrounded by a moat fed by the Gollach, and an Upper Castle are said to have existed in Bieberehren .
Bieberehren was 1,803 in favor of Bavaria secularized , then in the Peace of Pressburg in 1805 Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Wurzburg left with which it finally at 1814 Bavaria fell. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
