The Bieberehren – Creglingen line was a branch line in Franconia that crossed the border from Bieberehren in Bavaria to Creglingen in Baden-Württemberg . The 6.14 km long and standard gauge branch line branched in Bieberehren from the Gaubahn from with which it was operationally always closely linked, and followed from there the course of the Tauber upstream.

history

After Bieberehren was already connected to the railway network by the Gaubahn from 1907, Creglingen was finally also connected to the route covered here on November 17, 1909. Although two thirds of the route lay in the Bavarian region, it was built and operated by the Royal Württemberg State Railways . Further plans to extend the line to Rothenburg ob der Tauber and to link it there with the Steinach near Rothenburg – Dombühl line , however, could never be realized.

On February 1, 1967, what was then the Deutsche Bundesbahn stopped passenger traffic and replaced it with rail buses . There was still limited freight traffic until May 30, 1992, before it was completely shut down. The route between Reinsbronn and Creglingen was then redesigned into a railway cycle path .

The station building, just like those in Tauberrettersheim and Schäftersheim, was owned by the Royal Württembergische State railways built.
