history

Until the church is planted

There are individual finds from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. The place was probably during the Frankish conquest from the 6./7. It was systematically (er) settled in the 19th century, it was mentioned in a document in 1314. Frammersbach belonged to the parish of Lohrhaupten until 1416 , from 1553 to 1605 it was Protestant. The six book preserved in the municipal archive contains the resolutions of the village court from 1572 to 1764 at the turn of the Middle Ages to the modern era. Johann Philipp von Schönborn gave Frammersbach the right to two annual cattle markets in 1665, but this is not to be equated with an “elevation” to the market. The character of a market resulted from the size of the village and was only manifested in the 19th century.

Frammersbach acquired economic and historical importance as the “ Fuhrmannsdorf ”. For example, as early as 1430, the Frammersbach carters were mentioned in Antwerp documents, where they could later park their wagons in the Hessenhaus and spend the night. In the 16th and first half of the 17th century in particular, Frammersbacher carters did not have a monopoly on the main routes Antwerp - Leipzig and Frankfurt - Nuremberg , but they used them frequently, as did longer routes. The main hazards were spices, precious metals, fabrics and glass. Before the Thirty Years' War , from which the place suffered a lot, it already had about 1400 inhabitants. With the advent of shipping on the Main and the railroad in the middle of the 19th century, the era of the Frammersbach carters' guild came to an end.

In 1784, like Wiesen, Ruppertshütten and Partenstein, Frammersbach belonged to the District Bailiwick of Frammersbach in the administrative administration and winery Lohr in the Oberamt Orb and Lohr of the Electorate of Mainz. With the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss , Frammersbach came to the newly formed Principality of Aschaffenburg in 1803 . At the time of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt , Frammersbach was the seat of the Districtsmairie Frammersbach in the department of Aschaffenburg. Maire was Jacob Weis . The treaties of Paris made Frammersbach Bavarian and the seat of the Frammersbach Regional Court. The former municipality of Frammersbach emerged from the places Eisenhammer, Ölmühle, Hockenruhe, a brickworks and Frammersbach in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria by the municipal edict of 1818 . In 1819 the community of Frammersbach consisted of 425 houses and 1200 inhabitants (souls). At that time, today's district of Frammersbach was divided into four quarters, the Schwanderviertel or Schwartl, the Hofreuterviertel or Hofrait, the Frammersbacher Viertel (center of Frammersbach with the parish church of St. Bartholomäus) and the Herbertshain district.

Administrative history

In November 1823 the regional court of Frammersbach was dissolved and assigned to the regional court of Lohr with the then municipality of Frammersbach. In 1862, the Lohr am Main district office was formed from this. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Frammersbach was then one of the 26 communities in the Lohr am Main district . With the dissolution of the district of Lohr am Main, Frammersbach came to the newly formed district of Mittelmain on July 1, 1972, which ten months later was given its final name as district of Main-Spessart .

20th century

In the 20th century, the home tailoring and after the Second World War the clothing factory of Alfons Müller-Wipperfürth were of particular economic importance for Frammersbach.

The coat of arms shows in green on a white field the well-known carter (wrongly attributed to Jost Ammans) based on the woodcut by Hans Weigel, and in a red field the Mainz wheel and the Rieneck bars, which go back to the coat of arms of the Counts of Loon.

Partnerships

Frammersbach has partnerships with the French Orbec (since 1988) and with the Hungarian Mecseknádasd (Nadasch) (since October 11, 2003). Descendants of emigrated Frammersbachers live in Mecseknádasd who still speak a dialect that is similar to the Frammersbacher. There is also a sponsorship with Jáchymov in the Czech Republic. It was initiated on May 14, 1977 by former citizens of St. Joachimsthal / Dürnberg who settled in Frammersbach after the expulsion . In both regions there were protected forests, it was only allowed to settle on the edge. In both areas there was or is a donkey path and a village with an above-average number of carters, Frammersbach in the Spessart and Reischdorf in the Ore Mountains.

Dialect and vernacular

The Frammersbach dialect was probably influenced by the carters who brought goods from Nuremberg to Antwerp from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Many foreign language words were also used by the Frammersbachers.

The ceremony takes place according to established rituals (cherry tree erection; baptism and burial of a kirbmoo, i.e. a straw doll called Kirchweihmann). Presumably the boys from the village used to celebrate the end of their apprenticeship with this festival, before the end of the apprenticeship period was postponed due to the extension of compulsory education.
