Laurent Karim Agouazi ( Arabic لورينت أغوازي; * March 16, 1984 in Langres ) is a French - Algerian soccer player .
Career
society
Agouazi was accepted into the youth team of FC Metz in 1998 and a few years later drew attention to himself in the reserve team, so that in 2004 those responsible decided on a loan deal to the third division club RC Besançon . The then 20-year-old Agouazi became a regular player in the third division and was accepted into the first division team after his return to Metz in summer 2005. For this he made his debut when he was on the grid on September 10, 2005 in a 2-0 draw against OSC Lille . In the first year as a professional Agouazi only came to sporadic missions and at the end of the season also had to accept relegation to the second division. There, however, he made the jump into the starting eleven. He stayed that way after rising again in 2007, which was followed by direct relegation in 2008. At the end of his fourth year with Metz, the player decided in 2009 to move to the first division club US Boulogne . There, too, he made regular appearances and often played from the start, but was not a permanent fixture. With the club he had to accept relegation to the second division in 2010. On August 26, 2011, the early termination of his contract was announced.
A few days later, Agouazi signed with the also second-class FC Istres , where, unlike in Boulogne, he was given a regular place again. Nevertheless, he left the southern French club after a season to sign at the beginning of the 2012/13 season at SM Caen, who had been relegated from the first division . He was also one of the top performers in Caen, but fell out in the second half of his first year in Caen due to a knee injury for several months and missed the targeted promotion at the end of the season. This succeeded in 2014 in the second attempt, but afterwards his contract was not extended.
When looking for a new employer, he was finally successful in Greece and received a contract with the first division club Atromitos Athens . He did not get a permanent place there and in the summer of 2015 he returned to France when he switched to FC Tours . In the second division, he was now placed in the defensive midfield. In 2016 he moved to league competitor Chamois Niort .
For the 2018/19 season he signed a contract with Racing FC Union Luxemburg in the BGL Ligue . But already in the winter break he moved on to the 2nd team of FC Metz .
National team
In March 2008, Agouazi received a preliminary nomination for a friendly match between the Algerian senior team and the Democratic Republic of the Congo , but did not make it into the final squad.
In spring 2013, at the age of 29, he was accepted into the Algerian national team ; theoretically he would also have been eligible to play for the French team . On June 2, 2013, he made his debut for the North African country and was involved in a 2-0 win against Burkina Faso.
