Laurent Merlin (born October 17, 1984 in Marseille ) is a French football player . He currently plays in the French National (D3) for US Marseille Endoume .
Merlin is a central striker and started at Olympique Marseille in their youth teams. He made the leap into the professional squad and played 2 games for the club in the south of France. In 2004 he moved to the Corsican club AC Ajaccio . There he also scored his first goal in his professional career.
In January 2006, 178 cm tall striker was loaned to LB Châteauroux , but could not prevail there and went from there to the USA. There he signed a contract with the MLS and trained as a trial at Los Angeles Galaxy . But it couldn't prevail and was accepted by local rivals CD Chivas.
