Laurent Puigségur (born January 31, 1972 in Fresnes ) is a French handball coach and former handball player .
Career
The 1.84 m tall cyclist initially played for the French club USAM Nîmes , with whom he became French champions in 1990 . A year later he moved to Montpellier HB , with whom he won nine other championships. He also won the Cup seven times and the League Cup twice. The highlight of his club career was winning the EHF Champions League in 2003.
Puigségur has been part of the French national team since 1997 and has played 72 international matches . At the 2001 World Cup he was world champion.
Puigségur coached his former club USAM Nîmes from 2009 to 2011. In 2016 he took over the women’s U17 national team from France. Since the 2020/21 season he has been coaching the French first division team Toulon Saint-Cyr Var handball .
