Laurent Seksik (* 1962 in Nice , France ) is a French doctor , journalist and writer .

Life

After studying medicine, Seksik became a hospital doctor. Before that, he had obtained his first degree, Diplôme d'études approfondies , in nuclear medicine as part of his specialist studies and was approved at the Medical Faculty in Paris . His doctoral thesis focused on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI or MR) before he became an assistant doctor at the UFR Broussais-Hotel-Dieu in Paris. After completing his years as an assistant doctor, he let his profession rest for several years.

In 1999 Seksik published his first novel, which was followed by two more books. During this time he worked as a literary critic for Le Point magazine and took part in literary programs on French television for three years. In autumn 2012 Les derniers jours de Stefan Zweig was staged at the Théâtre Antoine in Paris with the actors Patrick Timsit and Elsa Zylberstein .

Seksik returned to his profession and has divided his life between medicine and literature ever since.
