Elsa Zylberstein (born October 16, 1968 in Paris ) is a French actress .

Life

Her father is the Jewish - Polish physicist Albert Zylberstein, her mother is a Catholic . After the Baccalauréat , the French Abitur, she began studying English and also attended the Cours Florent under Francis Huster .

Zylberstein had her breakthrough as an actress in 1991 with Maurice Pialat's film Van Gogh , which earned her a nomination for the César. In 1993 she received the Romy Schneider Prize for talented French actresses. Since then she has appeared in almost 50 cinema and television films. In 2009 she received César for the part of Léa in Philippe Claudel's drama So Many Years I Love You in the Best Supporting Actress category .
