Love gets everything rolling is a Franco-Belgian love affair by and with Franck Dubosc . His directorial debut is about a womanizer who pretends to be a wheelchair user to conquer a woman, falls in love and becomes increasingly entangled in lies. The film was produced by Gaumont and was released in German cinemas in 2018 through NFP . The film premiered on February 23, 2018 in France, in Germany the film opened on July 5, 2018.

Jocelyn, a successful businessman and charming seducer, changes his wives like other socks. When he happened to get to know his pretty neighbor Julie, who was sitting in a wheelchair and who now apparently believed that he was physically impaired, his ambition arose to get her around as a wheelchair user. Somewhat irritated by the flirtation attempts, Julie invites Jocelyn to a family barbecue evening in order to couple him with her older sister Florence, who really has to use a wheelchair after an accident. Florence lets herself into the advances of Jocelyn with playful ease, who falls increasingly in love, but is unable to uncover his story of lies despite the admonitions of his friends. He becomes more and more entangled and maneuvers hair-raising through history, in which it is only a matter of time before the absurd deception is exposed.

In Germany, the film was released by the FSK with the release date June 21, 2018 without age restriction. The statement of reasons for the release states that children from the age of 6 are able to process the film without being overwhelmed.
criticism
According to Margret Köhler from RND , it soon becomes clear in the romantic comedy that after many obstacles, the happy ending will come. In the pleasant and beautiful fairy tale, far from reality, Dubosc sometimes scrapes past embarrassment and kitsch, but also dives into the everyday life of the disabled and mocks the manliness mania. Alexandra Lamy saves the sometimes funny but risky story and soon turns out to be the smarter one.
According to Martin Schwickert from the Frankfurter Neue Presse , the obstacle course to the happy ending is winding and has one or the other surprising plot twist.
