Francis Huster (born December 8, 1947 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French actor and film director .

Life

After training as an actor, Huster was named Sociétaire at the Comédie-Française in 1971 . There he became a renowned theater actor, primarily in plays by Molière , but also in the portrayal of Alfred de Mussets Lorenzaccio . Soon Huster also made a name for himself as a theater director and was also active as an acting teacher at the Cours Florent until 1992 .

In the film he had to be content with supporting roles for a long time. It wasn't until 1983 that he made his breakthrough as a film actor in The Public Woman . Huster is often used as an interpreter of difficult, complicated characters.

Huster is married to the Italian-Brazilian actress Cristiana Reali , with whom he has two daughters.
