The Lava Point (in Argentina Punta Negra for Black Headland ) is a headland off Deception Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located on the southeast bank of Port Foster .

Polish scientists named them in 1999 after their lava rock , Argentine scientists after their color.
