The Lavallee Point is a headland in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is the northernmost branch of Shipton Ridge in the Allan Hills .
Scientists from the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program explored and named the headland in 1964. It is named after a lieutenant in the United States Navy who, as a helicopter pilot , had logistically supported the work of the New Zealand scientists in the Allan Hills.
