Laxmann's bulrush ( Typha laxmannii ) is a species of plant from the genus bulrush ( Typha ) in the family of the bulrush family (Typhaceae).

description

Laxmann's cattail is a 80–130 (–210) cm high plant with narrow, 2–4 (–7) mm wide leaves. The flower stalk has about 6–7 leaves that only slightly protrude from the tip of the bulb. The female portion of the piston is 3–5 (–13) cm long and only 4 mm in diameter when it opens, but 20–25 mm in diameter at the time of fruit. In contrast to the narrow-leaved cattail, the stigma is not linear, but widened rhombically. The distance between the female and male piston sections is 2-4 cm long. The male piston section is approx. 8-10 cm long and thus almost twice to four times as long as the female. The species blooms between June and August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 30.
